Do More Expensive Brake Pads Make a Difference?
Просмотров 999 часов назад
In this video we're experimenting with brake pads! Does a more expensive set of brake pads actually offer you increased braking performance or is it just a gimmick to get you to buy their products. We're going to be putting the stock Tektro pads head to head with a set of green Sinter pads to see who comes out on top! Will it work on my 2A
Water bottle or hydration pack?
Trash
If I cant apply slim to a tube I wont purchase one. (Presta) can you tell me how to take off the piece on top of the presta valve. ?
Great review! How capable on single track do you feel the redwood is compared to something like an entry level hardtail? I mainly ride road and I’m trying to find a do it all dad bike set up that could double for use on light single track as well.
You could put a smaller wheel and a 200mm of travel so if your 29in run a 26
well done
Thanks for the video. I'm wondering why this SA hub is not as clicky as the one on my Brompton? Mine is as chatty as it can be to a level that I'm looking to replace it with a an external hub.
How can I perfectly straighten my handlebars?
Thank you for explaining what it meant and not just saying what you where gonna do to the bike keep up the great work
Thanks! This helped to change my tires on my motorized bike, I was worried I was going to mess up the coaster brake and possibly hurt myself since its my emergency brake lol
Is it possible to have insurance on a bike?
man man, don't shout like that
Mtx ceramic gold pads are the best pads out there. They are quiet and have great stopping power. I don't think I'll buy another brake pad.
Thank you. That was really helpful. I liked the tip to go up in 4" at a time. In the UK there isn't much variety of options for 18 inchers, so I'm going from a 14 balance bike to 16 bmx pedal bike, then hopefully to 20 bmx if he chooses that style of riding.
Those brakes were not only on "budget bikes" . Good quality vintage bikes had/have them.
What about N? That's what I put in my car tires.
Everytime I put air in it by the time I take off the pump, try to screw the valve back the air is out 🤦🏾♂️
Thanks, I did this to a Campagnolo Scirroco 20 road wheel and have been riding it for 25 years now with no problem. The factories actually do this to the factory wide wheels now. Even though it only saved maybe 20 grams, adding that up over 1,000s of miles ridden is worth it.
I got my bike last year I just did the basic this time.
Dude , why the fuck you talk so fast ?
I used silicon caulk on my stem and so far so good.
Awesome tips thanks, just what I was looking for to setup my first wheel-on trainer!
If you need perscription lenses. A company called out of makes some good stuff. All their cycling glasses work with a clip in optical deal. The cheapest pair even come with ziess glass lenses @ $150ish. They go up to $350 for crazy photochromics that change in under 1 second.
Great Video...Thank you...I have a 68 Raleigh Superbe...the gears always need adjusting...especially getting to 1st gear
Presta Valves are a pain in the @$$. Nothing in the states is set up for that system so you have to constantly buy adapter pieces.
I don't know... on the topic of defeating its purpose... these cheap and popular ones everyone's talking about look like they have a speaker on the front, with that characteristic circular gap looking like it allows you to drive a hefty screwdriver or chisel in through there and silence the device with one smash, before it can even properly sound out the first-level warning buzz, let alone start really screaming.
The whole point of the low beam cut off is to have the upper edge BELOW the horizon to prevent blinding other cars/bikes etc. The high beam then illuminates ABOVE that cut off line when you need to see more in a dark street with no other oncoming traffic. Just like in a car 🤦 This is the WHOLE point of the light so would have been good if you actually used it like that in the review.
What's the difference Why not fill it with normal air
@@Outlaw_Gamer47 Air contains water where purified CO2 would have just CO2 and no particulates and no moisture so you don't get rust on the inside of your tire.
@@alexschubert Thank you
26 for twisty single track , 29 for supertanker manoeuvre ability. The heavier wheel isnt the only issue , its the bigger gyroscope that makes 29 a slower steering bike
X-LOCK is the best invention since the angle grinder! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
It'd be good to see a follow up review in August 2025 to see if it still works
@@krisholden8490 I purchased this model when it first came out. Lasted close to three months. It stopped taking a charge. The beam was great.
what if supermarket cars had the handles like the road bikes?
Thanx for the info
How does this compare to something like a Norco Fluid or a Marin San Quentin?
you didnt even do a before (control) test. also rub some fucking mud on it, let it dry then see if it rinses off.
A valuable insight. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Super appreciate the response. You have a new fan and subscriber.
Awesome, thank you!
This is definitely NOT the best hardtail! That’s for sure, dude!
👐 It is a super solid hardtail
@@YourFavoriteCyclist …and which hardtail is not „super solid“ in your perspective?
Good 👍 you
Thanks!
Any idea what year this is from? thanks for the video.
29 are to big 27 is better for me but I'll try a 29
And let’s not forget: Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requires that all new bicycles with a seat height of 25 inches or less have a coaster brake - usually 18” or smaller in wheel diameter, aka kids’ bikes
Didn't know that was actually a thing, thanks for the insight!
Have them on a 80's Raleigh 6 speed cruiser. Handlebars on them are not the giant curved bars they're kinda flat across like north bars. These bar ends in the center let you lean way back into the cruiser seat. Feels good leaning back but they do look a little funky. Add a giant shiny bike bell lol 🛎️
how to fill the wind to tube CO2?
Perfect. Thanks!!
Glad it helped!
Are Amazon Bikes any good??
Thanks for sharing your experience with Compressionless Brake Housing, I just ordered a Jagwire kit for my road bike build with ZTTO Cable actuated disc calipers, my brakes work ok on the drops but I'm wanting to increase the braking power and modulation on the hoods which I spend most of the time riding on a road bike. Hopefully is with the $35 upgrade is worth it because the cables cost almost as much as the set of calipers bought from AliExpress. I do agree with you for bikes with getting a fully hydraulic Shimano MT200 hydraulic setup for $50-70 dollars for flat bar bikes.
I have flat bar levers on my drop bar right now. I flip them around put them on the end of the bar with the levers facing forward. Actuate with pinky/ring fingers. Only downside is no braking available when extended to the curve of the dropbar, but lets be honest we dont use them that much anyway.
These are sooo hard to use please make a tutorial
😂 The mini rockers definitely take some practice to ride comfortably! Makes it more difficult when you spend more time on bigger bikes!
@@YourFavoriteCyclist yea I have one
